The first quarter has already flown by and we are well into the 2nd quarter. Some students had their work featured in the VUSD Arts Festival and now all Identity Portraits are on display in the front office. The Arts Fest was a really fun day of seeing students perform, meeting parents and connecting with other art teachers in the district. Malcolm (7 months) was with me all day and he loves to meet new people.

Now students are starting to work on their next unit which will broaden the identity focus to include their community. How do they identify community? What is unique to them and what makes us all connected?

The rest of this fall is going to fly by and I'm excited for the ride!
